In science we're looking at the connections between animals and plants. Our focus is now pond habitat, and the food chain. We have several examples of pond animals in the classroom, and are inviting more to join us. The Science Fair is right around the corner, and we are preparing to present some of our most interesting experiments. What a perfect way to bring everything together and show what these scientists have been learning. Ask your child about the scientific method and they should be able to tell you about each step.
During Fitness Week we exercised each day, learned more about nutrition, and created our own restaurant menus that included healthy meals, drinks, and even desserts. Students are making good choices about what to bring for lunch each day, and what to eat at snack time. The Jog-a-Thon brought the entire school together for a good cause. Everyone jogged or walked and then played some fun outdoor games. We even watched the students dance with Miss Boatner to show off their dance moves they learned in P.E. class. Thank you to everyone that helped with this event.
This month is a time for revisiting and reinforcing skills that we've covered throughout the school year. I'm so proud of these kids for working toward their goals and improving each day. Not only are students succeeding at academics, but also at showing good character. When I see kids using their good manners, being kind, or helping someone, I know they are headed for great things.
