Third and Fourth Grade Webpage

Time has just flow by! I have seen many great things from both the third and fourth graders, I am so proud of all the students this year.
It took some time at the beginning of the year for the 3rd graders to get the feel of being in my classroom. The last couple of months have been their greatest strides with Reading Comprehension. It has been the area of greatest improvement, which is fantastic that they are catching on.
The 4th graders have done exceptionally well and have grown in all areas of school. Mr. Bonham will truly be getting a great group of 5th graders as the students move up to the next level. They are ready for a new challenge!
Our class field trip to the Yaquina Head Tide Pools on May 21st was  enjoyed by all. The students were able to see how tide pools flow. We had a Ranger-led Education program called “The Sea-crest of Tide pools.” The main topic of this program was to discover the marine habitats and intertidal zones. The focus of the program was hands-on, hearts-on, mind-on learning. The students created a watercolor finger painting of Seal Rock, explored the tide pools, and participated in a reflective activity. The students were fascinated with all of the creatures that we have been studying, such as sea anemones, starfish, and mussels.
With all the exciting trips planned for summer break, try to have your child take some time out for a good book or two.
