Kindergarten

A big ‘thank you’ to all the moms that came in and put on a great Valentine’s party!  We are gearing up for another big party soon!  We have been counting the days of school since September, and we are nearing day 100!  Several of you have volunteered to come in and help with all the activities.  Tuesday the 23rd is the big day . . . .
We still have our butterfly theme going on.  Yesterday we talked about camouflage, and we played a little game.  Everyone colored a butterfly and we all hid them in plain sight around the room.   The best camouflaged butterflies have yet to be found!
February is Dental Health Month.  Toothbrushes and toothpaste samples went home last week.  We have enjoyed a couple of videos, seen an example of someone who didn’t take very good care of her teeth, and played some toothy games.  Hopefully we have encouraged the kids to be good brushers and flossers!
Another topic we are beginning is “time.”  We talk about events of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  We navigate the calendar to find out how many days or weeks until a certain event.  And soon we will be learning to tell time.  A great gift idea for your child is a wristwatch – and not the digital kind!
Keep up the reading at home.  I am so proud of the progress.
Here’s to a great Spring!
